Goodwin's comments (1915): "wife Jane" (no surname) "Some writers have suggested that Adam Blakeman, Philip Groves and Moses Wheeler, all of Stratford, married sisters of Joseph Hawley..."[1] Torrey's New England Marriages calls her Jane [Hawley?], probably as a response to Goodwin's comment.[2]

Recently (2003) Leslie Mahler adds: "Adam's wife, Jane, has often been called a Wheeler, which is probably a generational confusion, as two of their sons intermarried with Wheelers."

Date of birth has also been erroneously reported to be 1660.
