[Second Child:] William Carr, born 4 August 1658 ([Footnote: Felton Registers] Church of St Michael and All Angels, Church Bank, Felton, Northumberland NE65 9HP 55.2955, -1.7147); marriage bond 7 May 1682; High Sheriff 8 Queen Anne, 1709; buried at Chatton, "in his own pew," 14 November 1738. On 2 October 1736, he with his eldest son resettled the estates to disinherit John and Robert, putting Robert 6th and John 7th, next Carrs of Etal, and then Carrs of West Heddon Farmhouse, Heddon-on-the-Wall, Northumberland NE15 0JU 55.0127, -1.8087, but in doing this he omitted [Eshott Heugh, now Northumberland Country Zoo, 2 Eshottheugh Farm, Felton, Northumberland NE65 9QH 55.272313, -1.699608] and the name of the manor of Hetton ([Footnote: Law Papers and Deeds]). Alleged, in the Cotesworth Papers (Lord Northbourne), to favour the Jacobites. Will dated 15 March 1738 [1737-8] ([Footnote: Thomas Carr of Eshott 1754]). His portrait in Volume 3.
[Married, firstly:] Jane Strother, 3rd daughter of William Strother of Fowberry Fowberry Tower, Fowberry, Northumberland NE71 6ER 55.557788, -1.939034, marriage settlement 1682; Madam Jane Carr buried 13 December 1704 ([Footnote: Felton Registers]). William Strother, born 1606; died 1701. Will dated 1697. "To Captain Strother, warrant to raise a troop of Dragoons 6 May 1680." (Domestic Entry Book, Warrant Book, 1679-1681, folio [fo.] 33) "Madam Mary Strother from Eshott buried 25 August 1690" ([Footnote: Felton Registers]).
