About Jane (Jenny) Washington
Jane Washington was born on 20 Jun 1759 in Bushfield Plantation, Westmoreland Co., VA and died 16 Aug 1791 in Sweet Springs, VA. She was also known as Jenny.
37. Corbin Washington had recently moved from his farm on the family place in Westmoreland County. He was living at Selby, Fairfax County, where Washington visited him in November 1799 (Diaries, 6:374). Jane (Jenny) Washington was married to William Augustine Washington, the son of her father's half brother Augustine Washington. She was living with him at Haywood in Westmoreland County in 1791 when she died. Her surviving children in 1799 were George Corbin Washington, Ann Aylett Washington, and Bushrod Washington, Jr. As the major beneficiary of Washington's will, Bushrod, John Augustine Washington's oldest son, received only one third of a share (see note 33).
