About Jane Whittington, Free Settler "Wanstead" 1830

I am not deleting the original bio that was written but adding to it. I do not believe Jane died in 1831, there is no record of her death and I do not believe there is any replacement of her of an Aboriginal girl, there are no records at all to support this theory as have others in the family had their DNA done and no aboriginal DNA has shown up at all.
I would like this Bio to reflect on the facts, and since there are no records to support I would like to believe that Jane Bishop is the mother of my 2 x great grandmother Louisa. - Davina Dodds.

There is a question mark about the identity of Jane Bishop. The original Jane Bishop from Sussex may have died in 1831. Daniel may have replaced her with a part-Aboriginal girl Elli who took his wife's name of Jane. At this time there were rumours of aboriginals discovered who was of mixed black and white aboriginal blood from the Talbot River and Lake Austin areas by Lieutenant Dale (Daniel Whittington accompanied him on his journey to Talbot River and Lake Austin seeking an inland sea and white tribes rumoured to be in these areas).

The photo of Jane seems to confirm this story and also the dark skin and features of some of her descendants. It was rumoured that the Bartram and Kersley families of Dumbleyung had some aboriginal blood through their grandmother Elizabeth Kersley. She is believed to have been of partly of Noongar ancestry through the Dinah family and of white aboriginal ancestry through the white aboriginal tribe in the Lake Austin area. The White Aboriginal King of this area posed as an Afghan camel trader called Sulaiman Arsal Din. The white aboriginals were quietly hidden in the British population at a time when women were in demand. This is not proven but is only a possibility.
