Jane Wood

Information posted around this ancestor seems to revolve around an 1850 census entry for Montgomery County, citing a George Wood, born 1817 in Kentucky, and a Jane Jackson, born 1819 in Virginia, living in District 1 of Montgomery County, Kentucky. The couple had four children, ages 2 to 10 (born 1840-1848).

It seems plausible until reviewing Jane's mother's age at the time of supposed birth. Chloe Ann Jackson was born c.1757, which would have put her date at birth of Jane as being 62. This could be the case where Chloe's birthdate is estimated incorrectly, the range couldn't be that far off, as she had William Evan Jackson around 1778, or when she was 21. Even if she had William Evan at age 14, this would put her age at the birth of this Jane at 55.

Another possibility would be where John had a second wife, but this is not possible based on the existence of John's will that listed Chloe (William's mother) as living.

Note: (Research):Jane Jackson, appears to be living with George Wood in the 1850 census with four children with Jackson surname. Not sure of the relationship between Jane and George Wood. Helen Jackson Craig believed they were married.
