About Janet Livingston
Janet Fleming was the eldest daughter of Bartholomew Fleming, of a well-known Scottish family, the head of which was the Earl of Wigton, who with his son Lord Fleming was present at the wedding of his kinsman's daughter Janet.
Janet Fleming and Rev. John Livingston were married in the West Church in Edinburgh on June 23, 1635.

Janet Fleming (daughter of Batholomew Fleming and Marion Hamilton) was born 16 November 1613 in Edinburgh, SCOTLAND, and died 13 February 1694 in Rotterdam, HOLLAND. She married John Livingston on 23 June 1635 in Edinburgh, SCOTLAND (West Church), son of William Livingston and Agnes [Unknown].

Reverend John Livingston, a lineal descendant of the fifth Lord Livingston, ancestor of the earls of Linlithgow and Callendar, a minister of the Church of Scotland, who was sent into exile in 1663 due to his resistance to attempts to turn the Presbyterian national church into an Episcopalian institution. The exiled family were raised in Rotterdam, in the Dutch Republic.
