Mrs. Janet Crawford Montgomery, 77, Scottish-born nurse who served in the Spanish-American and first World wars, died Tuesday at her home, 1323 East Fairbanks St. Mrs. Montgomery came to the United States 62 years ago and to Tacoma 19 years ago from Butte, Mont. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Communion, a charter member of the D.A.V. and the V.F.W. auxiliary of Butte, and a member of the Pythian Sisters of Tacoma, the Daughters of Scotia and the Rebekahs.
Surviving are four sons, George of Great Falls, Mont., Clancy and Hugh of Tacoma and Sam of Seattle; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Diedrich, Mrs. Margaret Wendt and Mrs. Mae Brendly of Tacoma and Mrs. Eva Johnson of Olympia; a brother, John Montgomery of Tacoma; 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Buckley-King will announce the services.
