DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN. JASPER P. FARRAR, an old-time resident of Pleasantview, died Thursday evening, Dec. 16th, aged 88 years, 3 months and 16 days. MR. FARRAR was born in Madison, Jefferson county, Ind., Aug. 30, 1827. He was united in marriage to HANNAH C. LYLE Feb. 14th, 1849, who preceded him in death Feb. 7th, 1907. To this union were born nine girls and three boys, of whom five girls and two boys remain to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father. No one knew him but to love him. He bore his suffering with patience until death. Since the death of his wife he has made his home with his grandson, CHARLES B. FOSTER, and wife, who have tenderly cared for him and who did all that loving hands could do to relieve his suffering, but God in His wisdom called him home. MR. FARRAR was a veteran of the civil war, having been a member of Co. H, 115th Illinois Infantry. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Pleasantview Saturday forenoon at 10:30 o'clock, REV. FRED WILSON of Rushville officiating. Interment in Messerer cemetery. The following relatives from a distance were present at the funderal: MRS. DORA BENSON and BEARL WEBSTER of Beardstown, MRS. BELL DUNN and two sons of Roseville and MRS. KIZZIE WEBSTER of Moline. The children wish to extend their thanks to the friends and neighbors for the kindness shown them during the sickness and death of their father
