Jean-Baptiste LORRAIN

At 21 years of age he purchased from his mother the north half of South portion of that part of NE 1/4 of NE 1/2 Section 26 Twp 3 Range 9 East. This same year he sold 1.63 acres of Private Claim 574 in Greenfield Twp. to John Strong. In 1861 John received from Susan Lorrain (his mother) quit claim to parcel of land of original west line of Private Claim 574 running to Livernois Road, SpringwellsTwp. One year later Loius Campau purchased from John, 80 acres being the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/2 Section 26 Twp South Range 9 East. In 1881 John was a driver for Prospect Stables and living at the Antisdel house.

In 1883 he was known to have lived on Waterman, 1 block S. of Goldsmith.
