Jean I de Beaumont-Gâtinais , or Jean de Beaumont 1 , born around 1190 and died in 1255 , was a grand officer of the crown of France.

A member of the Beaumont-Gâtinais family , he is the son of Adam I of Beaumont-Gâtinais , lord of Beaumont-du-Gâtinais and Alix Leriche, lady of Athis-Mons , and the younger brother of Adam II de Beaumont-Gâtinais (1185-1242), Marshal of England for the King of France.

He was Grand Chamberlain of France between 1240 and 1255. He was sent to Languedoc to put down the revolt of Raimond II Trencavel and came to the aid of Seneschal Guillaume Des Ormes besieged in Carcassonne . In 1247 he took part in the Egyptian crusade . Sitting on the council of barons, he advocates in particular to withdraw, considering the agreements with the Ayyubid monarchy reliable . On this subject a violent argument opposed him to his nephew Guillaume III de Beaumont-Gâtinais , Marshal of France . He died soon after, in 1255 .

He first marries 2 before 1214 , Alix de Villemomble, with whom he will have two children:
