About Jean-Louis Campeau dit Limousin
Campau Louis, son of Jacques Campau. He married Marie Louise Robert,
widow of Francois Pelletier, and daughter of Pierre Robert and
Angelique Tholme, Jan. 7. 1724.
(Denissen v1 p201-202): On 10 Aug 1749 Jean Baptist bought from Simon Gilbert dit Sans Peur a farm which is now known as the Leib Farm. To settle different claims of creditors this transaction was brought before the Court of the Commandant who rendered judgment and Jean Baptist obtained full rights to the farm 23 Aug 1750. He sold the same farm 8 Nov 1750 to Jean Baptist Peltier and his wife Josette Cornet. In 1762 Jean Baptist was a Royal Notary at Detroit and resided on St Joseph Street.
