About Jean-Jacques Valiquet dit Laverdure

He was incarcerated at the Island of Montreal for committing incest on September 7, 1679. According to some records altho they called it incest it was relations with his late wife's s sister. That's not really incest. Yet other records indicated it was indeed his oldest married daughter and attempts by him were made on his other two daughters. Nevertheless ,which ever way it was, he was condemed to hang ,until another came to his defence and he was found not guilty and banned for life from the island of Montreal. He spent the rest of his life wandering around Canada. He died pennyless.

Fut banni à perpétuité de l'île de Montréal le 7/9/1679 pour...inceste.
