About Jean, seigneur de Humières
"The House of Humières is an old noble family of feudal origin which takes its name from the seigniory of Humières in Artois and whose main possessions were located in Picardy.
This family produced Grand Masters of the Artillery, a Grand Chaplain of France , a Grand Falconer of France, Governors of Picardy and Knights of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
Origins
The first mention of this family goes back to Jean d'Humières, lord of Humières and Humereuil in Artois who appears in a title of the year 1150. He had married Richilde de Fosseux with whom he had two sons and a daughter. One of his sons is cited in 1199 as governor of Artois."
