Jeanette Hork attended medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago in the early 20th century when most women were not entering the medical profession. She was one of a handful of women in her graduating class.

She went on to establish a successful practice as a pediatrician, and she also served as Head of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago for 40 years.

She was a respected physician in her time, and she is still remembered and idolized by many former patients and their families.
