I never knew Jeanette as she died in a car accident in 1937 the year before my myf father Robert Kenneth Wolfer Sr. graduated from high school with her husband and small baby. I've been told a drunk hit their car killing all three.. Her husband reached for Jeanette so they died in each other's arms. Aunt Minnie told me their baby would have survived if he had reached for the baby as all that happened was the babies bassinet turned over smothering the baby. Aunt Minnie reported her mother said it was provably for the best as there would have been a huge legal battle from the Grandparents as to who would raise their baby due to his parents being Catholic and Jeannett's parents protestants.with strong Lutheran backgrounds. They were returning to Pekin from San Francisco, California so the family could see their new baby where Jeannet's husband was helping build the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. Uncle Carl also went to California briefly helping build the Golden Gate bridge but landed a ground job after freezing in fright out on the bridge having to be rescued by others off the bridges cables.
