About Jeanne Marie Merrin
Jeanne Merrin livedin Canada, Nouvelle-France.The Jarry family were one of the early settlers of Montreal. The Grande Recrue, Jeanne Mance, took money that was intended for the local hospital and used it to recruit a hundred people, of which, they were a part. The contingent arrived at Ville-Marie (Montreal) on November 16, 1653. Of the 95 who embarked from Saint-Nazaire, France, 24 are killed by Iroquois, 4 drown, and one burnt when his house catches fire. In 1689, the English–allied Iroquois attacked the Island of Montreal, killing many.
