Jeannie J. Sanderson SALTILLO - Jeannie Jo Sanderson, 70, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at her summer home in Hale, Mich., after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo and a homemaker for 51 years. She was a former president of the Saltillo Women's Club, where she was instrumental in starting Saltillo Day and developing the Saltillo Park. She also started the local Red Hat Society and the Eggville Craft Club. She was heavily involved with special needs children at Rebelanes Bowling Alley and wrote Saltillo news articles for the Lee County newspaper. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and community service. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona with the Rev. James Burcham officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John Sanderson; her sons, Curtis, Doug and Trent; a daughter, Tracy (James) Burcham; grandchildren, Curtis, Stanley (Valerie), Stephanie and Jonathan Sanderson, Charles and Bryan (Jessica) Burcham; great-grandchildren, Blake Sanderson and Allie Burcham; and one brother, Butch (Linda) Kellner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Kellner, and a sister, Kay Kellner. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
