Jefferson "Jeff" Pennington (1836-1916) Jefferson "Jeff" Pennington was a son of Jefferson Brown Pennington and Edith Redford. Jeff was born 26 Aug 1836 in Monroe Co., IN. He moved with his family as a child to Cole Co. (now Moniteau Co.), MO and married Elizabeth A. Armitage on 11 Jul 1858 in Linn Twp., Moniteau Co., MO. Jefferson Pennington served in the Civil War, Union, Private, enrolled Missouri Miliitia, 43rd Regt. E. M. M. Company C, Capt. Courtright, age 26, enrolled Aug 24, 1862 in California, Moniteau Co., MO, volunteered into active duty on 27 Nov 1862 on the roll of Apr 1, 1863. Honorably discharged on 27 Nov 1862.
