Sorry for the delay in replying to your email, I wanted to find time to check the churchyard for memorial stones in good light before replying. The churchyard at Great Houghton was closed approximately 100 years ago and there are not many headstones left. Those that do remain are mainly made from a local and fairly soft stone and so the writing is badly weathered. Sadly I can now confirm that we have no legible stones bearing the name Goode in the churchyard.

Paper records from that time are all now in the county archives. I have checked the on-line index and it appears there are burial records from the period you are interested in. These have been “digitised” and the information copied to www.ancestry.co.uk. It could be worth checking this website if you have not done so already.
