About Jemima Cornelia Krause, g6h12
Mrs. Jemima Cornelia Krause was pupil at Eunice Dames-Institute 1870-1875. Married Dr. Otto Krause at Fauresmith in 1880. On the 2nd Aug 1880 she officially declared open the central road trough Jagesfontein Mine. Took active part in Church Bazaars and several charitable orginisations at Edenburg, Philipolis and Bloemfontein. Holder of first prize OFS Acricultural show 1892 for preserved fruit in bottles. And also for same a Diploma of Honour and Medal at the Centenial Columbian Exhibition Chicago, America 1892/93. At Bloemfontein 1900/24. Like others internedin Concentration Camp, 9 in a bell tent, helped women and children in concentration camp, and assisted in getting for them better food and treatment and full rations. Member of OFS Home Industries. (Founded by Emily Hobhouse) 1910/24 Was a very active worker during the Influenza Epidemic 1918. Judge at Agricultural shows in Home Industries section. Member of joint committee for the Eunice Girl High School and Grey College 1913/24 Member Executive Oranje Vrouevereniging. Vice President help committee for interned German Women and Children. 1917/19
Vice President Executive Women's Nationalist Party. Joint founder of the Orphanage, Ons Kinderhuis and one of the board of management 1914/24.
