Jemima Hall Cowley

Christened in Colesbourne on 21st April 1799 (Gloucestershire Baptism Records). Natural daughter of Esther Painter.

GRO records show marriage was in Hempsted, Gloucester on 30th July 1826 and address was Littleworth, Gloucester.

1841 is in Mill Town End, Fairford, age 40 with son Robert and daughter Sarah. Robert is in Tasmania or possibly Victoria having served his 7 year sentence of transportation imposed on 8th January 1831 for his part in the Machine Breakers Riots in Gloucestershire in October 1830. 1851 is age 47, housekeeper to father and son Cainey, shepherds in Pike House, Oakley Park, Cirencester. Her daughter Sarah is age 23 and listed as a visitor. Sarah is also listed as with her husband and daughter in West End Gardens, Fairford.

1861 is age 60, an agricultural labourer, now declaring herself a widow, living with her married daughter (Rowland) and family in West End Gardens, Fairford.

1871 is age 68, a widow, the householder with no occupation but with two elderly female lodgers in Milton End, Fairford.
