Jemima Carter, dau. of Samuel Carter and Jemima Houghton, was born Sept. 14, 1747 in Lancaster, Worcester Co., Massachusetts. She married on Feb. 14, 1724/1725 in Lancaster with DAVID NIMS JR., son of David Nims and Abigail Hawks. He was born Oct. 29, 1743 in Deerfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts. He died Aug. 30, 1826 in Roxbury Center, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire; she died there Jan. 29, 1832. Both buried at Hillside Cemetery, Roxbury Center, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire.
Children were: David 3rd (1/16/1769), Abigail (6/28/1771-1851; m. Hubbard), Matthew (8/7/1773-1849), Roxanna (3/11/1775-11/4/1778), Sarah (Sally; 5/9/1777), Asahel (6/10/1779-1831), Lucy (7/15/1781), Roswell (10/28/1783-1855), Alpheus (10/21/1786-1824) and Nahum (5/5/1787-5/9/1788).
