About Jenneken Ooster

http://www.onweersberkhof.com/aldfaer/lucassen_jenneken_283.html

"The name Jenneken is derived from the following deed: On 28-4-1645 Berent Berentsen Berkhoff and Jenneken lend his housewife to Johan Berentsen Swissen and Anneken his housewife the sum of "hundred daller ad 30 stûver" under mortgage from house and court. It is noted in the margin of this deed that on 30-4-1677 Hermen Berents Berchoff compares his father's heir Berent Berents Berchoff and that the aforementioned amount has been repaid, paid and paid by Berent Hondebeeck (Source: Rechts Protocols Stad Almelo).

The surname van Jenneken is derived from information from a public sale of land in 1649 of the desolate estate of the late Hermen Geerts, also known as Oostert or Kremer. (Archive Huize Almelo inv. no. 2857). In the sale of the lands, Berent Berentsen Berrichof is the highest bidder of a piece of land for the sum of 318 gold guilders, while he gave as surety to the father of his wife, namely Luicken Frerix. He is the ancestor of the Thunder family. That is why the patronymic of Jenneken is known. Theoretically, of course, it could be that Berent's wife in 1645 is not the same as his wife in 1649. In the event of death, people often remarried quickly, after all, there had to be a woman in the house for women's affairs. If Berent's wife in 1645 and 1649 is not the same, my conclusion in this regard is of course also incorrect.

Of course it is not possible to determine with complete certainty whether Jenneken is the mother of Berent's children, often there were several marriages if the woman died prematurely."
