Abstract of Will of Jennett Ashton Darby - Liber U, Page 433

I, Jennett A. Darby, of the Town of White Creek, County of Washington, State of New York, do make, publish, and declare this my Last Will and Testament, as folllows.

First: My funeral expenses are to be paid.

Second: To Woodlands Cemetery Associate, $75. trust, to invest same, and this income is to be applied to my cemetery lots, and the lots belonging to my father's estate, the gravestones to be kept untarnished.

Third: I give and bequeath to my beloved husband, Asa L. Darby, the sum of $350 annually during his natural life; to Jane Steele, her maintenance, and support during her natural life; proper burial as dictated in accordance with the terms of my bond help by her.

Fourth: I give and bequeath to my husband's son, Walter W. Darby, the income annually from the sum of $3,000. During his natural life, and after his death, the income from this $3,000 is to go to the descendants of Walter W. Darby.

Fifth: I give and bequeath to Walter W. Darby my gold watch and chain.

Sixth: I give and bequeath to my nieces, Anna Ingraham, and Jennie Ashton, children of my brother, John Ashton, the household furniture, and my wearing apparel, and to my nephew, Laurie Ashton, $800.

Seventh: I give and bequeath all the residue of my estate to the children of my brother John, viz: Anna Ingraham, Lourie Ashton, Charles Ashton, Jennie Ashton to be divided equally. This provision shall not be deemed to revoke or prejudice the legacy of $3,000 to the descendants of Walter W. Darby, if he leaves descendants surviving him.

I chose Lourie Ashton and Charles Ashton as executors of this my Last Will and Testament.
