Esther Jane (Jennie) Hamilton, was born in Charlemont, Ontario, June 24, 1877. She was the d/o Jacob Albin Hamilton and Annie Elizabeth Nixon. Jennie Hamilton joined John Wesley Haley in Africa in 1905 and they married on March 15, 1905 in Fairview, Natal, South Africa. Rev. J.W. Haley had sailed for Africa in 1902. They spent over 40 years as missionaries in Portuguese East Africa now called Mozambique, South Africa and Burundi.
