"Jere Abbott fought at Bunker Hill as sargeant in his brother's (Capt.Joshua Abbott) Company. Jere Abbott was afterwards made Lieut. and wasat Ticonderoga and the campaign against Canada. He was a decendant ofGeorge Abbott 2nd was a decendant of George Abbott Sr. who settled inAndover in 1643. Jere Abbott married the daughter of Col. Sticney inwhose regiment he served. co, Stickney commanded a regiment at BunkerHill . Mary Davis Carr notes indicate Jeremiah and that he added the extra Tto Abbot. She shows all preceeding males to be Abbot.
