Jeremiah A. Glidden

Jeremiah was the son of John and Abigail Glidden.

He married at Epping NH, Abigail"Betsey" Crockett of Epping. He was residing in Portsmouth NH at the time. Betsey d 1843 and was buried on the farm in the Glidden Cem. Her stone reads "leaving behind to mourn her departure, an affectionate husband, and nine loving children".

His children with Betsey from the Jeremiah Glidden Bible were: Eliza who married Thomas J. Robinson of Laconia, Caroline, Chase who went to Maine, Haven, John, MaryJane, Rufus Lewis, Simon D. and Warren L. Glidden.

Jeredmiah married second Mrs. Susan Haynes on June 13, 1844 who survived him and administered his estate.

His farm consisted of 100 acres bounded by the road from Meredith Center to New Hampton to the West as far as Wickwas Pond. (Belknap County Probate records)

He appears in the 1860 Census in Meredith age 80 with wife Susan H. who is age 57. (she is also 57 in the census 10 yrs prior) Living with them is his son Warren and his wife and children.

He does not have a stone.
