Birth

Jeremiah "Sabin" (Jr.), son of Jeremiah "Sabin" and Mary (Abbott) Sabin was born circa 1732 [1] and baptized 3 Sep 1736 with his siblings Simon "Sebins" and Esther "Sebins" at the First Church of Berwick, York county, Maine. [2] The vital records taken from the First Church of Berwick spell the family name "Sebins and Sabins". His parents, "Jeremiah Sabens" and Mary Abbot, daughter of Joseph Abbot and Alice (Nason) Abbot, were married 23 September 1724 in Upper Kittery, now Berwick, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Province of Maine. Marriage and Children

Jeremiah married Susanna "LeVallee" about 1750 at at Berwick, York, Maine. [1] She is believed to have been the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth "LeValley" of Marblehead, Essex county, Massachusetts and later Warwick, Rhode Island.

Jeremiah and Susanna Sabean had the following known children born at Berwick, York county Maine and later at their relocated home in Annapolis county, Nova Scotia (one of the original August 1759 founding counties):

1. Sarah, b. abt 1747 (she may have been b. out of wedlock given her parents age), Berwick, York, ME. [1] ; m. Borden Thurber, s. Benjamin & Elizabeth (Hallet) Thurber c. 1770 [Morris, p.11 quoting Sissiboo Bapt. Ch rcds] who was b. 20 Oct 1748, Falmouth, N.S. [Morris quoting IGI]; Bordon Thurber was companion to father Jeremiah Sabean in settling Weymouth in 1765. He was in Freeport by 1795.; she d. bef 1803
2. Mary, b. abt 1749, Berwick, York, ME. [1] ; m. John Grant, s. David & Susanna Grant, c. 1774 at Annapolis county, he was a farmer, in 1783 he & father-in-law Jeremiah Sabean had adjoining lots in Conway twp (later Digby county), Annapolis county. [4] ; she was prob. 25th person to sign original membership list of Sissiboo Baptist Church; resided Weymouth, N.S.; d. aft 1797 [1]

5. Willoughby, b. abt 1756, Berwick, York, ME.; m. Olive Welch, abt 1786; bap. as adult 21 Jul 1790; he d. abt 1850, Weymouth, Digby, N.S.; Will probated 14 jan 1853, Weymouth [Morris quoting Digby Co., estate index and "History of the Babtists of the Maritime Provinces" by E.M. Saunders, 1902, p.74]
6. Benjamin, b. abt 1763, Argyle, Annapolis, N.S. [1] ; m. Elizabeth Charlton, dau Henry Charlton & Mary Crane Charlton, 11 Oct 1790, Wilmot Parish, she was b. c. 1772 & d. 14 Dec 1854 [he spent 10 shillings for m. ceremony per Morris, p.13-14]; he was founder Sissiboo Baptist Church, bap. as adult 1799; voted church Deacon in 1811; Will probated 13 Mar 1845 [Morris, p.13, quoting Digby co., N.S. Probate A-238]
7. Deidamia, b. abt 1765, Sissiboo (now Weymouth), Annapolis county, N.S. Dec 1765 "1st English child b. in Sissiboo; m. Nathan Savary, Sr., Esq. s. Uriah Savary & Deborah Bumpas Savary, 28 May 1785, Digby, Annapolis, N.S. who was b. 1743, Wareham, Plymouth, MA & who d. 1826 and had m. 1st 1770 Elizabeth Nye in MA. by which he had children, he removed to N.S. 1783; she d. 24 Dec 1845; buried Savary Park Cem., Weymouth, N.S.
8. Philena, b. abt 1766, Annapolis county, N.S. [1] ; m. Evan Powell [who changed his name from Smith to Powell when he arrived], 7 Jul 1787 [Trinity Parish records] Digby, Annapolis, N.S.; she d. bef 1838, Freeport, Annapolis (in 1839 Digby county), N.S.
9. Lurana, b. abt 1768, Wilmot, Annapolis, N.S.; she d. 10 Nov 1853, Freeport, Digby county, N.S.
