Jesse Baldwin

 Jesse Baldwin was born in Sandy Creek, NY on Jan 5,1829. Per "Grandfather's Letter" and CC Baldwin he moved to Illinois. He married Oct 28,1857 in New Lenox, Illinois with MAHALA CARL; and later removed to Joliet.. Children all born in Illinois.

He had children:   1. Betty J., b Sept 10,1858, d April 14,1863

  2. William Carl., b Jan 8,1860, d April 28,1863

  3. Delia., b Sept 9,1861

  4. Arthur., b July 20,1867 and, per "Grandfathers" migrated to California.

  5. Jennie., b May 7, 1869

• 1880 census: Jesse (51), b. NY and wife Mahalia (51, b. NY); in New Lenox, Illinois w ch. Hannah (18), Arthur (15), and Jane (11). Also there is mother-in-law Jane Carl (70, b. NY) and niece Fanny Carl (12), and nephew Howard Carl (9).

Also, within "Grandfather's Letter" was information regarding Jesse's son Arthur, who migrated to California. This info was of special interest to me since my own family not only corresponded with Arthur's son Truman; but also were, on a number of occasions, visited by Truman at our house in Hillsboro NH.
