According to Family Group Record from Bertha Lowry, Zeb Gunter (Jessie's Half Brother) said that Jessie was 21 when he was killedin a sawmill accident. Helen Toler copied dates from the stone at Barker's Creek Gunter's Cemetery. Jessie's death date was 12 Jan 1890. Also, Ruby Parker, Jessie's neice, remembers being told that he was 21 or 22 when he died. (Bertha's family group record also has the words Tennessee Carringer in the first marriage space with no date) According to info from Mack Sutton & Judy French, Jessie was born Aug 19 1867 and died Sep 19 1893-info listed on internet under Marion Gunter Cem,Swain co,NC.
