Jesse Friend, Sr.

Hello, Angus: Harald asked me to contact you about the profiles for Jesse L. Friend, Sr., born 1781.
Jesse L. Friend, Sr., has not been proven to be descended from my line of Friends. His name has been tacked on by people I do not know with nothing to back up descent from Abraham Friend and Elizabeth Howard.
If you look at his profile page and the sources attached, none of the sources mentions his parents or gives any proof of his lineage anywhere. They are simply marriage records and one death record. Also, if you look at the source at Findagrave, you will see a photo of a young man obviously born in the twentieth century, not 1781. Someone should point out to the contributor that photography of this caliber was not even invented until the late 1800s. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/260495860/jesse-l.-friend Thus, the Findagrave info is without credibility.
I have included today a source for my Friend line on my father's page on my family tree page. This source was researched and written by a lawyer and eminent genealogist connected with the Delaware Swedish Colonial Society, Dr. Peter Stebbins Craig. Dr. Craig researched my Friend line to see if we were part of the Swedish Frand/Frande line and were thus eligible to belong to their prestigious society. He discovered our origins were probably English and actually travelled to the LDS Research Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, to write out an extensive report which is what I included. Jesse is not listed in this report as one of Abraham's three sons. Also, there is no other reference available online that connects Jesse with my line in any way.
Please eliminate Jesse from my line. Thank you, Lani Friend
