JESSE "SLIM" EDINGTON, 82, of Oakland Park, Vanceburg, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Born September 26, 1923, at Thor, he was a son of the late Samuel and Edith Laura Stone Edington. He worked as a mechanic for Bertram's Chevrolet for seven years ad also worked for US Shoe in Vanceburg for 29 years. He was a WWII US Army veteran and a member of Clarksburg Church of Christ, where he served as superintendent, song leader and elder.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carrie Belle Brown Edington, and two sons, Michael (Rachel) Edington and Rick (Pam) Edington.
Services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Bro. Joe Brown officiated with entombment at Lewis County Memory Gardens in Black Oak. Military graveside rites were accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438. Note: Veteran of the U.S. Army WWII
