It makes you wonder many things. But take it for what it is worth, a look into the period of Jim Erwin's life leading up to his arrival to Smith County, Texas. I apologize in advance for any upsetting content, it was the mentality of that time. Unfortunately, slavery is our past, but if our ancestors could live it, certainly we can read about it somewhat, and maintain the upmost respect for our ancestors whose bondage did not make them who they were called by limited thinkers. African American workers were the only race that made this world we call America, and even through bondage they shined! "There is no other united race in America, that are the original makers of a country, as African Americans."
