In 1769 he occupied lot number 101 on the east bank of the Mississippi at St. James [parish, LA]. A brother-in-law Francois PART, born 1753, lived with him.

Joachim-Benoni LeMIRE, born about 1736 (Reference: 1766 census), 1st married about 1759 to a daughter of Pierre PART & Angelique GODIN, while a prisoner at Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is listed as Beleaunie MIR, an Acadian prisoner on 12 Aug 1763, living next door to his father-in-law Pierre PART. (Reference: ACADIAN EXILES, John [sic for Jehn], p. 249, #29). Benoni arrived in Louisiana 13 May 1765 as a widower, and was part of the Halifax group that were settled along the Mississippi River in present-day St. James Parish.
