Joan K. Hale Green of Bedford, IN, formerly of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Monroe County. Born on September 16, 1933, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Lee T. and Florence J. Staples. She married Carl Green on January 6, 1997, and he survives.

Also surviving are four daughters: Lisa Pace, Lana Stigall, and Dana Sowders, all of Bedford, IN, and Tamyra Verheul of Fairfax VA; one step-son, Joe Green of Bedford, IN; one step-daughter, Rita Martin of Spencer, IN; and seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Norman Hale and Frank Bowman; and one daughter, Paula Michelle Hale.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority, Otis Park Ladies Golf Club, Tuesday Morning Women's Bowling League, and was a former member of the Lawrence County Saddle Club.

Services for Joan Green will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6th, at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ronald Sacco officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
