  • WALTER DEANE claimed of the lord 4 closes called Caprons Downe, now in the tenure of Johane Deane, to hold to himself and his assigns for the term of 21 years next after the decease of JOHANE HIS MOTHER for a fine of 10 pounds of which 5 pounds was to be paid at the feast of St. Michael the Archange next and 5 pounds at Easter [whole entry was crossed out and a note added that THE SISTER WHO WAS IN THE COPY WAS TOHAVE THE SAME AFTER THE DEATH OF THE MOTHER. At the court held 17 Oct. 1561 Walter Deane surrendered the above estate in the premises into the hands of the lord.]
