Joan Jones

Married Philip Earl Jones 11 July 1956 in the Logan Temple.

Joan Kotter Jones died 12 May 2008 at her home in Payson, Utah from causes incident to lung cancer. She was surrounded in the love of her husband, Philip E. Jones and their children: Julie and Russ Harward, Alan and Geralyn Jones, Linda and Raymond Rowley, Susan and Chris Hailstone, David and Janalee Jones, Debra and Todd Sperry, Reed and Erin Jones, Gordon and Alison Jones, Diane and Richard Payne, and Mark and Marilyn Jones. She is also survived by 54 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Joan was born 28 December 1935 in Brigham City, Utah to Vernon Henry and Mary Welling Kotter. Her sisters are: Marilyn and Milton (deceased) Manning, Willetta (deceased) and Robert Oberg, Dorothy and Loren Sayer, Sharon and Daryl Anderson, Marge and Allen Fife, and her brother Fred Kotter.

Joan loved the out of doors. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served gladly in many callings and responsibilities. Her greatest joys were the gospel of Jesus Christ and her role as wife, mother and grandmother.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West in Payson. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Payson Utah Stake Center, 650 West 800 South. Friends may call from 9:30 t0 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Perpetual Education and/or Humanitarian Funds.
