Joane Smith

Biography

Joan was the daughter of Richard Alleyne of Derby.[1] Her birth date is not known, but her son John was born in 1567,[2] so she was likely to have born herself before 1552.

Joan married Thomas Smith of Hoby, Leicestershire.[1] They had two known children:

1. John, antiquary and Member of Parliament[1][2]
2. a daughter whose husband was Stephen Fowler of Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, and whose daughter Mary married her cousin, Joan's grandson Thomas Smyth[3]

Joan's husband settled in Hoby, Leicestershire.[1]
