Joane was admitted to the first church in Salem, Feb 26,1642-3, where 3 of their children were baptized.

https://familysearch.org/photos/stories/1294744 Joan was admitted to the first church in Salem, MA on 26 Feb 1642. She was dismissed to join the church in Wenham on 2 Oct 1645. It does not appear that the family ever lived in Salem, only that Wenham had no church in 1642. She was willed by her grandmother Philipa Staples West "To Joan West, daughter of Magdalin West, one brass cauldron which is in their hands alreddye." Goodwife Joan White herself said, "her heart was drawn towards New England because good people came hither." A memorial placque in memory of John and Joane White is located in Lancaster in the old burial field.

John White was born on 7 March 1602 in South Petherton, Somerset, England.2 He was the son of Robert White and Joan West.2 John White married Joane West, daughter of Richard West and Maudlin Staple, on 28 May 1627 in Burton, Drayton, Somerset, England.3,1 John White died before 28 May 1673 in Lancaster, Massachusetts Bay Colony, now Worcester County.1
