About Joanna ‘Hannah’ Clark

Biography

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Holbrook-2142

Joanna Holbrook was born in Braintree, then in Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, 9 Jun 1656 (Gregorian[A]).[1][B] She was the daughter of Thomas Holbrook and Joanna Kingman.[1]

She married as his first wife Uriah Clark, son of Hugh & Elizabeth (Unknown) Clark in MA - parents of

  1. Uriah II,
  2. Thomas &
  3. John

(she apparently died when her last child, Thomas, was born or shortly thereafter)

After her death husband Uriah married Mary Unknown in 1682 and had Mary, Joanna, Richard, Peter, Benjamin, Nathaniel & Samuel

Research Notes

A. The birth date used in this profile is Gregorian, aka "New Style," and calculated online (calculators available here and here) on the premise that the date in this record is Julian, aka "Old Style." If Julian, then "Mo. 3" means May, not March. Furthermore, the online calculators make an adjustment for differences in the number of days in the Julian and Gregorian year, which is why the Julian day shown in the record ("30 May") becomes, in this profile, 9 Jun.

B. This record doesn't give the year of her birth, but based on her age at death, it's presumably 1656. See also Wikipedia contributors, "Old Style and New Style dates," Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia (accessed June 26, 2021).
