Joanna married the grandson of Morgan James
The Magna Charter Barons and Their American Descendants by Charles H Browning says on p. 418 that Joanna married Samuel James, grandson of Morgan James. This fits with the numerous 1746 marriage certificates, which list Samuel's parents as Joseph and Elizabeth.
Joseph James 1770 will leaves the bulk of his estate to his grandson Joseph James, as well as to the grandson's siblings William, Samuel, Jesse, and Hannah.
So it does not appear that Joanna married Morgan James' son Samuel. She married Morgan James' grandson Samuel. The ties to Morgan's son Joseph are well-documented in sources.
