Joanna's maiden name has been given as both Knowles and Munson, but I find no evidence given for either. She was married about 1690 to John Fish, the son of Thomas and Mary Fish of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Joanna and John raised twelve children, all of whom reached maturity, and the family lived in Portsmouth as well as Dartmouth, Mass., where both John and Joanna wrote their wills. Joanna wrote hers on 5 April 1744, and it was proved on 10 Dec 1744.

The burial location for Joanna has not been determined.
