Joanna died 9 Sep. 1800 at Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont and was buried at Locust Ridge Cemetery, Brattleboro, Vermont. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone with the Inscription: "In Memory of Mrs. Joanna, consort of Mr. Nathaniel French, died Sept 9, 1800, age 72 yrs."[3]
