Biography

Joanna Partridge married, on Jan 16, 1701-2,[1] John Low of Portsmouth, a carpenter. He was around 36 years of age when they were married (did he have an earlier marriage?).

1. Sarah, born Feb 1, 1701-2;[3] married Mar 2, 1720-1 to Samuel Tibbetts of Dover; died before 1761, when he was living in Georgetown.
2. Mary, born Apr 3, 1704. [4]
3. John, born Sep 10, 1706,[5] Boston shipwright; died by 1761, leaving widow Sarah as executrix.
4. Joanna, born Feb 6, 1708-9;[6] married James Springer of Falmouth, shipwright; was living in Georgetown in 1761.
5. Nathaniel, baptized May 25, 1712; Boston, mariner, on HMS Norwich; will dated Jan 4 1742-3, probated July 22, 1746. His widow and executrix Mary Low of Boston joined his brother John and his sisters Tibbetts and Springer in deeding the malt-house lot in Portmouth to Samuel Hart in 1754.
John served as a selectman from 1710 to his death, on May 24, 1713. Formal responsibility for administration of his estate was given to Joanna on June 14, 1713, with William Fellows and Samuel Hart, both from Ipswich, as her bondsmen.

Her husband, John died May 24, 1713, and administration of his estate was granted to Joanna on June 14, 1713 in Portsmouth. Actual record in New Hampshire Probate Records Volume 7, p. 112.
