About Joanne Sparks
According to The Sparks Quarterly, Whole No. 154:
"Land records in Queen Annes County prove that this first William Sparks had come to Maryland from Hampshire County, England, at least as early as 1670, as had also his brother, John Sparks. Recent research strongly suggests that they were sons of Thomas and Joane (Davis) Sparks who had been married in Fareham Parish in Hampshire County, England, on October 19, 1635.
"Among the children of Thomas and Joane was a son named William Sparks, baptised on August 6, 1646, and a son named John Sparks, baptized on December 3, 1649. They also had two other sons baptized in the Fareham Parish, Church: Francis Sparks, baptized on July 20,1641, and Richard Sparks , baptised on December 10, 1658."
Most of the information following is from various articles found on sparksfamilyassn.org. That website began in the 1950's collecting information about the Sparks Family and has a quarterly which contains updates and more and more information each year. When/if there is a conflict between information from this site and Ancestry.com, I deferred to this site as the more factual.
Joane's parents were William Davis and Joane (Wekham) Davis. See "About" under her husband Thomas for information about their children.
This information was obtained through Ancestry.com. It did not list a place of birth or death. It listed only one child: Thomas. There was no maiden name given. It is curious that Thomas's wife is also listed as "Joane." This leads to the conclusion that her name may not be accurate but it was the only information found on the subject to date.
