About Job Hyde

The Hyde Family traces itself to the two brothers, Jonathan and Samuel, who were early settlers of Cambridge Village. Massachusetts. Samuel, born in 1610, embarked from London in the ship Jonathan in April 1639. Jonathan, born in 1626, arrived in the Massachusetts Bay colony in 1647, and with his brother purchased two hundred and forty acres in the village of Cambridge in 1652, which they owned in common until 1661.

Jonathan and his first wife, Mary French had fourteen children. With his second wife, Mary Rediat, he had seven more children. Among his children, Daniel, who was born in 1665 in Newton, married his first cousin once removed, Sarah Hyde in 1696, and died in 1736; and William, who was born in 1662, married his first cousin once removed, Elizabeth and died in 1699.

The first immigrant, Samuel, Hyde and his wife Temperance had five children. Their son Job, born in Cambridge Village in 1643, married Elizabeth Fuller, and had nine children, including Elizabeth, born August 29, 1664, Samuel, born March 5, 1667, and Sarah, born October 2, 1675.
