A Patriot of the American Revolution for VIRGINIA with the rank of PRIVATE. DAR Ancestor #: A009597

Son of Enoch Berry. Brother of Elizabeth (Berry) Crail, William, George, Enoch, John, Ann, Mary and Sarah. Rev. War Vet. He worked at Armory in Fredericksburg, VA at one time serving under brother Wm. Berry. Married to Nancy Feagan. 2ndly he married Ann Holsworth by whom he fathered William Holsworth Berry 1776,.Rebecca (Berry) Mullin b. 1789 and possibly others. Lived in 1780 in Hampshire Co., VA., then Fayette Co.,VA; then Bourbon Co.,KY in 1787; then Washington, Mason Co.,KY in 1798; then Montgomery Co.,KY; to Clark Co., KY; to Pendleton Co., KY 1804-1814 and 1820-1826; to Campbell Co.,KY in 1827; to Pendleton Co.,KY in 1833; and to live with son Holesworth in Rush Co., IN. where he died.

Served as a Pvt. as a Minute Man in VA. Worked at the Armory in Fredericksburg, VA under Col. Fielding Lewis. Also served under his brother, William Berry, as stated in his Pension Application Papers.

His name is on a Commemorative Plaque at the Rush County, IN Courthouse as one of the brave Patriots buried in Rush County, IN.

Burial is in the East Hill Cemetery, Rushville, Rush County, IN.
