Mikesellam a resident of Glenn Col. an a teacher byprofession, My Post Office is Elk Creek. I met this man Joel Shinn, onWednesday or Thursday of last week for the firs time in Bridgeport, GleenCo. I met him again on Monday evening of this week, at the same place. Hewanted some one to take him home. He lived near Galt, San Joaquin Co. Hesaid he was sick and could not sit up andride in his buggy andwanted meto take my carriage and team and haul him over, which I agreed to do.Westarted Tuesday morning about 10 o'clock from Bridgeport. He claimed thathissickness was caused from heart disease. On the way, about 3 milesfrom Blacks station, He wanted an operation, he wanted to get out of thewagon. I assisted him in getting out, while having his operation he fellover, I then assisted him in getting up , having him take hold of thewagon wheel to assist himself. He made several efforts to get up but didnot have Strength to hold himself to the wheel. I held him in my arms.While holding him hi dropped limbs. I then let him tothe ground easily.While he was in an unconscious state, I placed his blanket under him. Hedrew three or four breaths and expired. This was about halfpast six p.m.July 18, 1894.
