About Johan Boshoff-Serenata
Johan Boshoff-Serenata (1980 – 2009)
Brief overview:
Johan (28), owner of Hand-O-Man who designed and developed sports fields,, was gunned down in front of his seven month pregnant wife, Gazrietta (29), only hours after moving into the Savannah Hills country estate.
Gazrietta heard a dog barking that evening and went out to investigate, and she saw four men. Two had firearms and one of the others had a knife. She told Johan to lock the door. The attackers kicked at the door and started firing shots.
"One shot hit my husband in the shoulder and he fell down. He begged the attackers not to shoot him. They finally came in and stabbed him in the chest, then shot him while he was lying on the floor."
Gazrietta was also assaulted. One of the shooters tried to take her wedding ring off her finger, and then
he couldn't get it off, he wanted to bite it off. She then took it off her finger herself.
The gang then ransacked the house and fled with a laptop, three mobile phones and jewellery.
Const. Police spokesperson Mabel Sibanda said that no one has yet been arrested in connection with the murder and robbery.
