Johan Christian Smed Karstensen Fabricius

Biography

Johan Christian Fabricius was born on April 22, 1624 in Tønder. His parents were Carsten Jensen and Gude Frodesdatter Schmidt. He was a 1649 præst i Løjt.

Johan Christian married Anna Villadsdatter on May 27, 1650. Together they had the following children:

• 1651 Vilhad Johansen Fabricius;
• 1654 Christian Fabricius;
• 1656 Caspar Fabricius;
• 1659 Johan Christian Fabricius;
• 1662 Andreas Fabricius;
• 1665 Catharina Gude Johansdatter Fabricius.

He died on July 9, 1686 in Løjt.

About nephew: “I 1675 havde Steffensen fået en kapellan, Johannes Reimer, som kun 8 år gammel havde mistet sin far, der var præst i Bedsted. Hans morbror, magister Fabricius i Hostrup, tog sig af ham og læste med ham, så han allerede som 16 årig tog studentereksamen. Han blev udnævnt til kapellan på sin 25 års fødselsdag” (Nedergaard).
